The Route for May 2018

We recommend that teams aim to arrive at our meeting point in Bruges on the Wednesday (23rd May 2018). The fun and games start at 9am on Thursday.

Day 1 – Thursday 24th May

Bruges to Strasbourg – 470 miles

A relatively short day if you travel directly to Strasbourg… but why do that when you have the options to Bruges, Brussels and the Nurburgring!

Waffles at the Atomium, before a jaunt through Luxembourg, or a pit stop at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps (one of our favourite stops) before stumbling across “The Green Hell”, 13 miles of pure petrolhead heaven.

Once you’ve had your fill, its time to head south, into France and our stop for the night, Strasbourg – Capital city of the Grand Est region and home to the European Parliament.

Day 2 – Friday 25th May

Strasbourg to Annecy – 270-370 miles

Day 2 will take us to Annecy, on the banks of a stunning Lake. Annecy is right on the Swiss border and with the right choice of route you’ll take in the cities of Bern and Geneva on the way. For those that haven’t been on our events before, its not too far to Stuttgart for the Porsche museum, Hockenheim and Sinsheim – a fantastic transport museum.. you cant miss it there’s a Concorde on the roof!

Experienced ralliers will not only have the scenery to take in but also a chance to visit the home of Bugatti, Mulhouse. Cite D’Automobile holds the largest collection of Bugattis in the world. Well worth a visit.

Day 3 – Saturday 26th May

Annecy to Nice – 350 miles

Although on paper this is a relatively low mile day… dont be fooled this is some of the best scenery of the trip and something we are really excited to share with you.

If your chariot is feeling a little worse for wear, there is a direct route avoiding the mountains which will take you directly to Nice and along to Monaco if you wish…. what am I talking about of course you’ll be going!

Those feeling a little more adventurous have a slight detour, and another country to tick off the list….. Lunch in Turin anyone? Yes we are heading over to Turin… Why? well I’ll come to that surely by why not have pizza for lunch in a beautiful historic city surrounded by motor and movie nostalgia.

So the why?, well for ten years I have been trying to cram in one particular road into our trips, finally I get to share it with you. Not only are the motorways from Turin fantastic ribbons draped across the valleys but hidden within Mont Bego’s slopes is the the Col De Turini- beautifully built roads with endless hairpins and endless motor racing history – most famed for its use in the Monte Carlo Rally.

But that’s not all today – Yeah, I’ve mentioned it already but these roads drop straight down into Monaco… Yes, that Monaco. Mix with the stars and their cars, drop by the marina or make your car feel loved outside the casino!

All this before heading to our stop a short distance away in the wonderful city of Nice, a favourite of ralliers in the past.

Day 4 – Sunday 27th May

Nice to Barcelona – 410 miles

The final day takes us along the Riviera to our final destination of Barcelona. With Cannes, St Tropez Marseille and Montpellier all on route before you get to the Spanish border.

Take a tour of the Pont Du Gare, close to Nimes. Lunch in Montpellier or just head on down to the grand finale in the Catalan capital, Barcelona.

Think you’ll make it? We hope so.
